    You're Not the Boss of Me! Employees & Social Media

    This presentation will review the ins and outs of the impact of social media on employers, including everything from hiring to firing.

    Key Objectives:

    1. Identify when and how to use an applicant’s social media presence in hiring
    2. Identify when and how to use an employee’s social media presence in terminations
    3. Understand the intersection between social media and labor law.

    HR professionals will learn about the impact social media can have on hiring, firing and employees’ labor rights. This will help with Employee and Labor Relations, Human Resource Development, Workforce Planning and Employment and Business Management. HR professionals can use information from this presentation in recruiting and hiring and managing their workforce.

    Speaker Bio

    Kaitlin (Kate) Gallen defends employers at all stages of litigation, including in state and federal courts and administrative agencies. She has drafted substantive briefs and coordinated responses in both class action and mass action contexts.

    Kate assist clients with a broad range of legal services including:

    • Employee benefits and executive compensation counsel

    Prior to joining Polsinelli, Kate was a law clerk for the Honorable Mary Russell of the Supreme Court of Missouri. She attended the University of Missouri Law School, where she was the Managing Editor of the Missouri Law Review.
