Description of Topic:  Employee Benefits Post Obama “What just happened/happening”

Since the Trump administration took over the oval office there has been constant debate, executive orders along with legislative failures and successes. HR professionals are wondering “What just happened???”  We will clarify what changes have been made that will affect employee benefit plans.  Additionally, what will be happening-what are the growing trends post HCR?  I will do a overview of the upcoming employee benefit “trends”.

Key Objectives:

1.  HR professionals will have a clear understanding of the recent HCR updates that will affect them and their workforce   

2.  HR professionals will learn of significant insurance trend changes specifically in the Cedar Valley.  Including the introduction of limited provider plans, new insurance carrier options, and introduction of reference based pricing

3.  With some of the teeth of HCR being eliminated by the Trump administration, we will discuss new benefit trends that HR professionals may want to learn more about, specifically to attract and retain millennials. 

The relative slow down of HCR regulation and enforcement has allowed for benefits companies to catch their balance and focus on other solutions.  We will soon see some of these solutions enter the Cedar Valley.  HR professionals will be able to identify a few areas that may be of interest to them.
